He loves me , he loves me not… He loves me.. I care, not.
Most of us have been indoctrinated by television, our communities & society to be hopeful and eager for a “prince charming “. I’m not against men, but the idea of living and doing things just for the validation and affirmation from men, is where y’all got me messed up. I don’t understand the hype. This isn’t a blog post to steer you away from men, this is blog post to show you there’s more to live for !
The Indoctrination & worship of men
In 2005 I remember getting ready for bed. I just got out of the bath and I called my grandma for assistance. After helping me, She told me “ Don’t forget to moisturize your body child, your husband is gonna want you to have smooth , soft skin! ” .
In 2005 , I was 5.
I love my grandma, and I know she means well and I don’t hold this against her. I just want to highlight it because this is a perfect example of little girls being indoctrinated to do things with men being the motivation. I know thousands have similar stories from their uprbinging – especially if you grew up in the black community.
It’s like we were being trained to believe men are a part of our identity and without one, we aren’t complete. Without one we’re not deemed to be worthy. Without one people want to know, ” well what are you living for ?” as if womens’ sole purpose is to be yoked to a man.
RE-Center Your Purpose
A life without the worship of men is pleasant. You will begin to unlock parts of your brain that haven’t been activated, since the male worship indoctrination . In the realm of centering your purpose, you’ll find your optimal levels of self care and self validation. You will notice a sudden decline in the amount of jezebels and provocative behavior that influences our society now.
Ways to de-center men from your life:
- Spend more time with your friends and family- Unfortunately society doesn’t push the importance of strengthening the relationships that you have with your relatives and real friends as much as it pushes finding someone to have sex with.
- Center God- Now that we went ahead and knocked that sucka off the pedestal, go ahead and put God in his rightful place.
- Date yourself- You deserve your own attention.
- Find a cause to support- Life is greater than relationships.. find a need in the world. You have and are the solution.
- Build business’ get creative – without a vision , you’ll perish.
- Heal– All of us have emotional, physical or spiritual wounds. Heal so you can show up better in the world.
