According to the American Psychological Association, “Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape, or natural disaster“. Based on their professional analysis of trauma, they describe it as being an emotional response.
With emotion being the root word for emotional , Those who have been following me for a while should know that emotion is just energy in motion .
So if we switch “emotional” with “energy in motion” in APA’s definition of trauma, it sounds like this: “Trauma ignites energy in motion, in response to a terrible event…”
Now this leaves the question, where is the energy being motioned. Well, it’s pretty obvious that the energy is motioning in our bodies. Energy never dies. With all of this in mind, When a traumatic event happens to us , it provokes energy in our bodies. Since we know that energy never dies and can only be transferred, if we don’t relinquish it , it’ll remain in our body. This is when the transmutation of energy begins.
Suppressed emotion & energy transmutation
Emotions (energy) that we haven’t allowed to pass through our bodies many times converts into fat. How? you may wonder, well firstly the human body is an energy system. Between the many electric power systems in our bodies, energies are transmitted & released to create connection links for our cells to carry out their purpose in our bodies. The energy systems in our body do many things, one of the superpowers it gives us, is the ability to pick up on the energy frequencies that are on people and in our environment.
“The fascial system creates the extensive “living network” that allows energy to be communicated and transferred throughout the human body.”
James Oschman
All suppressed emotions cause stress in the body. When your body is constantly in a stressful state, that’ll cause your cortisol to increase. When your cortisol levels are consistently high that can stimulate the production of fat cells in every area of your body but, primarily in the abdomen. When the body is stressed, you are at a state of fight or flight. I believe when this happens, our bodies produce fat cells to form a sort of “body armor” that protects us from negative circumstances. I could be wrong, but my research says otherwise , i’m just saying.
Fat distribution & alignment
Professionals and non professionals both would say that fat distribution is based on your genetics. I would agree with both , but I believe there’s one exception. In the origin areas where there’s poor alignment, I believe an increase in adipose tissue (fat) will produce in those areas , again to form some type of “armor” to protect us. In this case to support and compensate for our poor alignment.
Take for instance the dowager’s hump or the dorsocervical fat pad. Fascial restrictions in the pelvis can also cause love handles
.

Though there are other reasons that these instances may occur, like in general weight-gain. Poor alignment is another reason that generalized fat deposition may occur.
The Superficial layer of fascia (aka Subcutaneous tissue) is the first layer of connective tissue. It lies right underneath the skin. This layer is made up of loose connective tissue and adipose tissue (fat) . It also consists of blood vessels and nerves. Most importantly, this is the layer that primarily determines the shape of a body.
With that in mind, If the superficial layer of fascia determines the shape of your body and it can be manipulated, that raises the question of , is all weight gain really just genetic or is it epigenetics..
