Hands/Wrist & Feet/Ankles (body recomp)

Fascial restrictions can cause unaligned body frames. When the frame of the body is unaligned and fat begins to produce, the misaligned frame will make the fat appear worse than it really is, like elongated. When I understood this I shifted my focus from weight-loss to just body re-composition. In this new revelation I debated on where is the best place to start when it comes to starting a body recomp journey. Through thorough research I have come to understand that the best place to start when going on a body recomp journey varies from person to person. Where I have restrictions and deficits in one or multiple areas, won’t be the same for another. Generally I would say feet, but for me and my personal body goals, i’m going to start with the feet and hands.

The Feet & Ankles

When you think about the feet you can clearly understand why someone would begin here when starting a recomp journey. The feet are the foundation of your body frame. You won’t be able to completely align anything else until you restore and align the foundation. That mindset can be applied to more than just your body .

So for the next few weeks i’m going to be focusing on restoring and aligning my feet and ankles. How ? you may wonder, well I curated a formula that i think will reap the best results.

Plyometrics + Pilates + Feet Soaking + Foam Rolling + Nutrient-dense diet . I’m going to start there and see if that drives me in the right direction.

The Hands & Wrist

My next focus will be my hands and wrist. One of my major restricted areas is my shoulder blades. In my prior sedentary lifestyle , i was always in a rounded shoulder posture. I also endured domestic violence growing up so I believe this became my defaulted posture overtime as a defense mechanism . Due to all of that and much more my back muscles, specifically toward the spine, became inhibited.

Muscle Inhibition : a muscle that is receiving no or distorted neurological input.

Think of muscle inhibition like the unlocked areas of a video game. They are there but you can’t activate them unless you activate other areas first. The saying ” If you don’t use a muscle , you lose it” is 100% not a myth . To unlock my back and to get rid of the “big back” look, i’m going to focus on strengthening and aligning my wrist first.

my formula for this is , hand and wrist workouts, soaking and stretching.
